Charging
It takes appro x. 10 hour s to fully charge
the batter y .
A fully charged shaver pro vides up to
20 shaving min utes.
If you ha ve a hea vy beard, the shav er may
provide less than 20 sha ving minutes.
The number of sha ving minutes may also
var y over time, depending on your shaving
behaviour , cleaning habits and beard type.
’Charging’ indication
- When the shav er is charging, the light
on the adapter lights up (Fig. 5).

it with another plug, as this causes a

- The shav er is not intended for use
by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensor y or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been giv en
super vision or instr uction concerning
use of these appliances by a person
responsible for their saf ety .
- Children should be super vised to
ensure that they do not play with
the shav er .
- Always unplug the sha ver bef ore you
clean it under the tap.
Caution
- Never immerse the shaver in water
(Fig. 2).
- Do not use the shav er in the bath or in
the shower .
- Never use water hotter than 80°C to
rinse the shaver .
- Do not use the shav er or any other
par t if it is damaged, as this may cause
injur y . Always replace a damaged
adapter , char ging stand or par t with
one of the original type .
- Never use compressed air , scour ing
pads, abrasive cleaning agents or
aggressive liquids such as petrol or
acetone to clean the appliance.
- W ater may leak from the socket at the
bottom of the shav er when you rinse
it. This is nor mal and not dangerous
because all electronics are enclosed in
a sealed pow er unit inside the shav er .

Note: The light on the adapter does not
change colour and does not go out when the
shaver is fully charged.
Using the sha ver
Note: This shaver cannot be used with the
power cor d connected to the mains. If the
batter y is empty, r st charge the shaver at
least 1 hour before use.
Sha ving
Skin adaptation period
Y our r st shaves ma y not bring you the
result you expect and y our skin may ev en
become slightly irr itated. This is nor mal.
Y our skin and beard need time to adapt to
any new sha ving system.
W e advise you to sha ve regularly (at least
3 times a week) for a period of 3 weeks to
allow y our skin to adapt to the new shav er .
During this per iod, use your new electric
shav er exclusively and do not use other
shaving methods. If you use different sha ving
methods, it is more difcult for your skin to
adapt to the new shaving system.
1 Move the on/off slide upwar ds to
switch on the sha ver .
2 Move the sha ving heads over y our
skin. Make both straight and cir cular
movements (Fig. 6).
3 Move the on/off slide do wnwards to
switch off the sha ver .
4 Clean the sha ver after ev er y shav e
(see chapter ‘Cleaning and
maintenance’).
Cleaning and maintenance
Nev er use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning
agents or aggressiv e liquids such as petrol
or acetone to clean the sha ver and its
accessories.
- Clean the shav er after ever y shave.
- Clean the shaving heads frequentl y
with Philips Shaving Head Cleaning
Spray (HQ110) for optimal shaving
performance .
- Y ou can clean the outside of the
shav er with a damp cloth. Do not clean
the shaving unit with a cloth.
