Using the contacts Enter the
Contacts menu, the conta cts list is displayed if you
already h ave so me (othe rwise, go to
Storing a new contact ).
When
a contact is selected, an icon is displayed in the title bar. Then
press the Left soft ke y, various options are proposed: Call, Send
message, Edit, Delete, Add contact etc.
You can sea rch for a contact quickly by typ ing the first lette r.
Storing a new contact From the Contacts menu, select Add contact and press the Left soft
key t o ente r the menu.
- Select name and press the OK
key , enter name of your corres pon-
dent and press
the OK key aga in to confirm.
- Select number and press the OK
key , enter phone number and
press the Left

Fixed dial This menu allows you to restrict the outgoing calls. The availabili ty of
this me nu depe nds on y our SIM .
From the Co ntact s menu ,
select Fixed d ial menu and va lidate.
Enter P IN2 num ber and validat e.
When acti vating th is functi on, only th e numbers s tored in th e fixed
diallin g can be called. This phonebook is linked to the SIM card, and
its siz e depen ds on th e card' s capaci ty.
Speed dial 1. You can assign any one of the 8 numbers from 2 to 9 to specific
contact. Enter the specific contact numbers, then press the Green
key to make a speed dial in the home pa ge only.
To set up the speed dial, from the speed dial menu, select “Invalid
record” to the “ Select contact”, then enter Contacts list t o select a
contact.
If a contact is used in the speed dial, you can press
the Left
soft key
for available functions.
2. Enter the sequential phone contact number with “#” key, (example
:
21#), the contact will be displayed.
This menu allows you to access the list of last numbers used.
Enter Calls menu, you can access the call log divided into three lists
that you can display with the navigator key: Received, Missed and
Dialled calls. Each call has information on type of call, date and time.
Select a call from the list and validate, various options are proposed:
Call, Send message, Delete, Save etc.
You can also make a call to a number by pressing the Green key .
Fast access to the list of calls from the idle screen: press the
Green
key.
Switching on Press and hold the Red key to switch your phone on.
A short display appears.
If
access to the SIM card is protected , the phone prompts you to
enter the PI N number: between 4 and 8 digits given to you wh en the
SIM card was issued. These digits do not appear on th e screen
for sec u
rity reason s.

Compose & send message From Messages menu select the Write message menu and validate.
The number of characters in an SMS is limited to 160 characters (or
even less in the case of exotic languages). When typing a text, a
counter showing the number of characters deducted is displayed at
the top of the screen.
When the text has been entered, press the Left
soft key:

Send, to send the message by entering the receiver’s number
or selecting it in the c
ontacts.
- select Save to drafts , if you do not want to send message
immediately or if you want to send it several times; it is saved in the
Drafts.
- select Send and save, to send the message by entering the
correspondent's number while saving a copy in the Sentbox .
Receiving messages When yo u recei ve a mes sage, a melody (define d in th e menu S etting
/Sounds /SMS) warns you and a message icon is displayed on the
screen.
You can press the Left
soft key to read the new message direc tly, If
you do not read the message s, this icon remai ns displ ayed on the
screen. When it flashes, the memory is full. Received messages are
stored in the SIM card or in the phon e until you ch oose to delete them.
Local information This menu is used to activate recep tion of local informat ion broadcas t
by
the network. You can choose whether you want to receive this
i
nformat ion or not (pl ease co ntact y our net work pr ovider for more
details ).
Voicemail This function allows you to call your voicem ail number and listen to
voicema il. If your voicemail number has not been entered yet, you
must en ter it in the M enu Mes sages/Vo icemail /Voicem ail numb er
.
If your voicem ail num ber is stored, you can quickl y acces s your
voicema il from the idl e scree n via a long pr ess on key 1.
Charging the battery Your phone is powered by a rechargea ble battery. A new ba ttery
must
b e charged for a t least 4 hours before being used for t he first
time. It reaches its optimum capacity after a few cyc les of use.
When y our batte ry has be en disc harged, the phone displays the stat e
(empty batt ery icon flash es). In this case recharge your battery
for at least 15 minutes before making any more calls so as to avoid
being cut of f mid-cal l.
It is possible that the battery may heat up slightly during charging ;
this pheno menon i s normal.

not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommende d
by in ternational guidelines. These guidelin es were dev eloped by the
independ ent scientific organization ICNIRP and include saf ety
ma
rgins designed to assure th e pro tection of all pe rsons, regardless
of age and health.
The guidelines use a unit of measuremen t known as the Specific
Absorptio n Rate, or SAR . T he SAR l imit for mobile device s is 2 W/kg
and the highest SAR value for th is device when t ested at the ear was

W/kg (*) . As mobile devices offer a range of functions, they can
be used in other positions, su ch as on the bo dy as describe d in this

As SAR is m easured ut ilizing the devices h ighest transmitting power
the actual SAR of this device while operating is typically below that

of the device to ensure it only uses the minim um level required to

Safety Never attempt to disassemb le your phone. You alone are

Electrical safety Only use the cha rgers listed in the manu facturer’s catalogue. Using
any other charger may be dangerous; it would also invalidate your
warranty. Line voltage must be exactly the one indicated on t he

Aircraft safety When travelling by plane, you will need to switch your phone off
when so i nstructed by the cab in crew o r the warnin g signs.
Using a mobile phone may be dangerous to the operation of the
aircraft and may disr upt the ph one network.

s use is illegal and you could be prosec uted or banned from using
ce
llular networks in the future if you do not abide by these
regulations.
Explosive materials Please comply with warning signs at petrol station asking you to
switch y our p hone of f. You will need to comply with radio e quipmen t
usage restrictions in places such as chemical plants, fuel depots and
at any loc ation where blasting operations a re under w ay.
Electronic equipment To avoid the risk of demagnetisati on, do not let electronic devices
close to your phone for a long time.
Electronic medical equipment Your p hone is a radi o tran smitter which may interfe re w ith ele ctronic
medica
l equipment or implant s, such as hearing aids, pacemakers ,
insulin pumps, etc. It is reco mmende d that a minim um sep aration of

attention to driving, stop and park safely before making a call. You

nsavers. Some o f these items m ay contain data th at may

malfunctions of your phone or data losses (virus for example).

r this reason, Sagem Communi cation rejects all respo nsibility
conce
rning (1) the reception of downlo aded data or losses of the
said data, (2) the impact on the operation of the phone and (3)
damages
resulting from receiving the said downloa ded data or loss
of sa id data. In a ddition, Sagem Commu nication states that a failure
caused
by receiving downloaded data that do not comply with the

fications set by Sagem Communic ation is excluded from the

Any
content that you download to your phone may be protected by
copyr
ight belonging to third parties and conseque ntly you may not
have
the right to use this content or its use may be re stricted.
Consequ e
ntly it is up to you to ensure that you have permis sion,

as unde r the terms of a licen se agree ment, to use any c ontent
that you download. Furthermore, Sagem Communic ation does not
gua
rantee the ac curacy nor th e quality of any content that you
down
load. You alone are responsible for the content that you

load to your mobile phone and how you use it. Sagem

municat ion cannot be held responsible for this content nor for its

It is your responsibil ity to ensure compl iance, at your own expen se,
with the laws and regulations applicable in the country where you

The new phone (excludin g consumables) , including new
accesso ries bundled with t he phone, are guaranteed by Sa gem
Communi cation, parts and labour (apart from travel) against any
manu fact uring fau lt fo r a perio d of tw elve (12) mont hs w ith effec t
from the sa le of the pho ne to the cu stomer , on p resent ation of the
paperwork s t ating th e purchas e date of th e phone.
Phones that have been repai red or replaced as standard during the
warranty period stated above a re guaranteed (parts and labour) until
the later o f these two dates:
Expiry of the guarantee period of twelv e (12) months stated above
or three (3) months with effect from the date of support provided by
Sagem Co mmunicat ion.
Your legal rights under the terms of applicable national law as well
as your rights in relation to your retailer, as set out in the sales
con
tract, remain applica ble and are not in any way affected by this
guarantee .
In any disputes, the phone is covered by the legal warranty against
the consequenc es of faults or hidden defects in compliance with
articles 1641 and subsequ ent of the Fr ench civ il code.

All faulty phones un der warranty will be repl aced or repaired free
of charge at Sagem Communication' s option (with the exclusion of
repair of any oth er damage), once it has been specified that the work
required for the application of the warranty will be done in a
workshop and that the return costs (transport and insurance ) of the
phone to the address to be indicated to it by the Sagem
Communi cation after-s ales servic e, whose ph one numbe r will
appear on the delive ry note, w ill be charg ed to the c ustomer.
Subject to essential legal provisi ons, Sagem Communication does
no
t accept any warranty, explicit or implicit, other than the warranty
provided expressl y in this ch apter, nor sh all Sage m Commun ication
accep
t responsibility for any i mmaterial and/or indirect damages
(such as loss o f orde rs, los s of profit or any other f inancial or

The acceptan ce o f a p hone under warranty d emands tha t a

r's name and address, date and place of purchase, type of
phone
and IMEI, are attached to the warranty, and that the

formation on the phone identification label is legible and that this
lab
el or any other seal h as not b een tampe red with.
The
warranty applies in n ormal con ditions of use.
Prior to sending the p hone for repair, it is the customer' s
responsi bility to backup at his expens e the customized data stored
in
the phone (phonebook , settings, wallpapers). A list of backup
facilities can be prov ided by Sa gem Communicati on on request. The
responsi bility of Sage m Commun ication can not be invoke d if
damage
oc curs to c ustomer files, progra ms or d ata. T he inf ormation
or operating elements and the c ontents of files w ill not b e re-installed
in
any cas e in the ev ent of los s.
Sagem
Communication may decide, at its option, to repair the p hone
with new or reconditi oned parts, replace the phone with a n ew phone
or, in any di spute, a phone in go od working condition. During its work
Sagem
Communica tion reserves the facility to make, where
necessa ry
, any techni cal modifica tions to the phone where these
modificat ions doe n ot adverse ly affect its initial pu rpose.
Fau
lty part s to be repl aced d uring a repair under warranty will
become
the prop erty of Sag em Comm unication.
The
phone repair and sta ndstill t ime durin g the w arranty period m ay
not lead
to an extension of the warranty per iod as stated in article 1
above
, provide d no other vital prov isions have been ag reed.
The
applic ation of the warranty is subject to the full payment of the
su
ms due fo r the pho ne when the request f or support is made.
The ope ning or closing of a SIM operator k ey an d call-ou ts resul ting
in
the non-operation of the phone resulting from the opening or
clos
ing of SIM operator key done without the agreement of t he
original operator.
5.
In the cases of warranty exclusion and of expiry of the warranty
pe
riod, Sagem Commu nication shall draw up an estimate to be given
to the customer for acceptance before any call-out. The repair and
ca
rriage costs (there and back) given in the accepted estimate will
be
charged to the cust omer.
These p rovis ions are valid unless a special written agreemen t has
been
made with the customer. If one of the provisions turns out to
in
fringe a lega lly essen tial rule that consume rs could ha ve the
bene
fit of under the nation al legislation, this provision will not be
app
lied, but a ll other pro visions w ill remain v alid.

The follow ing are ex cluded fr om the wa rranty:
Breakdown s or malfunction s due to non-comp liance with the
installation and use instructions, to an external cause of the phone
(shock, l ightnin g, fire , van dalism, malice, water damage of any t ype,
con
tact with various l iquids or any ha rmful age nt, unsuit able elec tric
current
...), to modifications of the phone made without the written
consen
t of Sag em C ommuni cation, to a servicing fault, as describe d
in the d ocume ntation supplied with the phone, to lac k of supervisio n
or care, to poor environm ental conditions of the phone (especially
temperatur e a nd hy grometry, effe cts o f v ariations in electri c vo ltage,
interferenc e from the mains network or earth) or even due to a repair,
a call-out (op ening or try ing to open the phone) o r to servicing d one
by personn el not app roved by Sa gem Com munication .
Damage resultin g from inadequate packaging and/or poor packing
of the phon e sent bac k to Sag em Commu nication.

Communi cation problems linked with a poor environment,
especially:
Problems accessing and/or logging onto the Internet, such as
breakdow ns of the acc ess network , the failure o f the subs criber's or

rage by radio tra nsmitters , interferenc e, disturba nce, fai-lure or
poor quality of phone lines...), a fault inherent to the local network
(cabling, file server, user phone) and/or transmi ssion network fault
(interferenc e, disturb ance, failur e or poor quality of th e network. ..).

Sounds This menu allows you to customize the ring tones, to adjust the
volume and se t the vibrating m ode.
From the
Sounds menu, choose Call/SMS/Alarm menu and validate.
Use the Up/Down keys to select the ring tones from the proposed
list and vali date.
From the Soun ds menu, choose Volume
menu and val idate.
Adjust the volume of the rington es using the Left and Right keys of
the navigator .
Note that the key pad be eps c an be deactiv ated b y red ucing their
volumes to ze ro.
During a call, you can a lso use the navigator keys to adjus t the call

Date and Time From the Date / Time menu, sel ect:
Set date / tim e: set the time by ente ring it direc tly in digita l format or
by using the Up/Down keys , then use the Right key or Left key to
access the nex t (or pr evious) input f ield. O nce the time is correc t,
accept it.

This menu allows you to customize the settings of your phone to make

In the menu Settings/ Shortcut s, select the key that you wish to
customi ze and validate. Choose then the function that you want to

Lock/unlock keypad On the Settings menu, please sele ct the Automatic keypad lock
menu
and validate.
If the aut omatic keypad lock is activated, the keypad will be loc ked
after 30 seconds of inactivity.
When the keypad is locked, emergency ca lls are still possible.

Call barring The Call barring function allows you to block the incoming and/or
outgoing calls, either permanently or when you are abroad and if a
roaming service is available.
Note that the availability of this service depends o n your operator and
requires a specific password provided b y your operator.
Security PIN: this is your SIM's sec ret code. If access to the SIM card is
protected, the phone prompts you to e nter the PI N number: between
4 and 8 digits given to you when the SIM card was issued. These
dig
its do not appear on t he screen for security rea sons.
After a ctivate or deac tivate the PIN, you mu st inpu t the co rrect P IN.
PIN2: you have a second PIN number to allow you to access certain
functio ns.
These functio ns may or may not be available depending on

Phone code: when the Phone code is activate d, it prevents anybody
