Precautions On water resistant/dust proofing performance of the unit • The charging case is no t water r esistant/
dust proofing.
• The water r esistant specifications of this
unit are equivalent t o IPX5 in IEC 60529
“Degrees of pro tection against ingres s of
water (IP C ode) “ , which specifies the degr ee
of protection pr ovided against the entry of
water , and the dust proofing specifica tions
of this unit are equivalent t o IP5X in IEC
60529 “Degrees of pr otection against solid
foreign objects (IP C ode) “ , which specifies
the degree of pro tection provide d against
the entry of solid foreign objects.
Unless the unit is used corr ectly , wat er or
dust may get into the unit and cause fir e,
electrocution, or malfunctions.
Note the following cautions c arefully and
use the unit correctly .
IPX5: The unit will maintain its operability
even when exposed to dir ect jet streams of
water fr om any direction (e xcep t for the
sound conduits (sound output tubes) of the
headset).
IP5X: The unit will maintain its safety and
satisfactory operation in the event of an
ingress of dust.
• The sound conduits (sound output tubes) of
the headset are not c ompletely wa tertight.

water , water with bath agents, shampoo,
hot spring water , pool wat er , seawater ,
etc.)
The water resistant/dust proofing performance of the unit is based on measurements performed by Sony under the conditions described above. Note that malfunctions resulting from water immersion caused by customer misuse are not covered by the warranty. To maintain water resistant/dust proofing performance Carefully note the pr ecautions below to
ensure proper use of the unit.
• Do not splash wat er forcibly into the sound
output holes.
• Do not drop the unit int o water , and do not
use underwater .
• Do not allow the unit to r emain wet in a cold
environment, as the wa ter may free ze. To
prevent malfunction, make sur e to wipe off
any water after use .
• Use a soft dry cloth to wipe off any water
that gets on the unit. If wat er remains in the
sound output holes, the sound may become
muffled or completely inaudible . If this
happens, remove the earbuds, position the
sound output holes facing downwar d, and
shake several times t o get the water out.
• T urn the microphone hole downw ard and
gently tap it about five times towar ds a dry
cloth etc. If any water drops are left in the
microphone hole, it may cause corrosion.
• If the unit is crack ed or deformed, refr ain
from using the unit near wat er or contact
your nearest Sony dealer .
On BLUETOOTH® communications • Bluetooth wir eless technology oper ates within
a range of about 10 m (30 fee t). The maximum
communication distanc e may vary depending
on the presence of obstacles (pe ople, metal
objects, walls, etc.) or the electr omagnetic
environment.
• Bluetooth c ommunications may not be
possible, or noise or audio dropout may oc cur
under the following conditions:
– When there is a person between the unit and
the Bluetooth devic e. This situation may be
improved by positioning the Bluetoo th device
so that it faces the ant enna of the unit.
– When there is an obstacle, such as a metal
object or a wall, between the unit and the
Bluetooth devic e.
– When a Wi-Fi device or microwave oven is in
use, or microwaves ar e emitted near the unit.
– Compared to use indoors, use outdoors is
subjected little to signal r eflection from walls,
floors, and ceilings, which results in audio
dropout occurring mor e frequently than use
indoors.
– The antenna is built into the unit as indicated
by the dotted line in the illustr ation below .
The sensitivity of the Bluetooth
communications c an be improved by
removing any obstacles betwe en the
connected Blue tooth device and the ant enna
of this unit.
• Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (IEEE80 2. 11b/g/n) devices
use the same frequency (2.4 GHz). When using
the unit near a Wi-Fi device, electromagnetic
interferenc e may occur , resulting in noise ,
audio dropout, or the inability to c onnect. If this
happens, try performing the following
remedies:
– Establish a connection between the unit and
the Bluetooth devic e when they are at least
10 m (30 feet) away fr om the Wi-Fi device.
– T urn off the Wi-Fi device when using the unit
within 10 m (30 feet) of the Wi-Fi device .
– Position the unit and the Bluetoo th device as
near as possible to each other .
• Microwaves emitting fr om a Bluetooth devic e
may affect the opera tion of electronic medical
devices. T urn off this unit and other Bluetooth
devices in the following loca tions, as it may
cause an accident:
– in hospitals, near priority sea ting in trains,
locations where inflammable gas is pr esent,
near automatic doors, or near fire alarms.
• The audio playback on this unit may be
delayed from that on the tr ansmitting device,
due to the characteristics of Blue tooth wireles s
technology . As a r esult, the sound may not be
in sync with the image when viewing movies or
playing games.
• This product emits r adio waves when used in
wireless mode.
When used in wireless mode on an airplane ,
follow flight crew dir ections regar ding
permissible use of products in wir eless mode.
• The unit supports security functions that
comply with the Bluetoo th standard as a
means of ensuring security during
communication using Blue tooth wireles s
technology . However , depending on the
configured se ttings and other factors, this
security may not be sufficient. Be car eful when
communicating using Blue tooth wireles s
technology .
• Sony shall assume no responsibility f or any
damages or loss resulting fr om information
leaks that occur when using Blue tooth
communications.
• Connection with all Bluet ooth devices canno t
be guaranteed.
– Bluetooth devices c onnected with the unit
must comply with the Bluetoo th standard
prescribed by Bluetoo th SIG, Inc., and must
be certified as compliant.
– Even when a connected devic e complies with
the Bluetooth standar d, there may be cases
where the charact eristics or specifications of
the Bluetooth devic e make it unable to
connect, or result in diff erent contr ol
methods, display , or oper ation.
– When using the unit to perform hands-free
talking on the phone, noise may occur
depending on the connected devic e or the
communication envir onment.
• Depending on the device to be c onnected, it
may require some time t o start
communications.
If sound skips frequently during playback • The situation may be improved by se tting the
sound quality mode to “priority on stable
connection. ” For det ails, refer to the Help Guide .
• The situation may be improved by changing
the wireless playback quality settings or fixing
the wireless playback mode to SBC on the
transmitting device . For det ails, refer to the
operating instructions supplied with the
transmitting device .
• When listening to music fr om a smartphone,
the situation may be improved by closing
unnecessary apps or restarting the
smartphone.
On the use of calling apps for smartphones and computers • This unit supports normal incoming calls only .
Calling apps for smartphones and computers
are not supported.
On charging the unit • This unit can be charged using USB only . A
computer with a USB port or a USB AC adap tor
is require d for charging.
• Be sure to use the supplied USB T ype-C cable.
• When charging, the unit canno t be turned on
and the Bluetooth and noise canc eling
functions cannot be used.
• Immediately wipe off any perspir ation or wat er
on the charging port after use. If perspiration or
water is left on the char ging port, it may impair
the ability to charge the unit.
• If the unit is not used for a long time , the
rechargeable ba ttery may become depleted
quickly . The battery will be able to hold a
proper charge aft er it is discharged and
recharge d several times. When storing the unit
for a long time, charge the ba ttery once every
six months to prevent over -discharge .
• If the rechar geable battery becomes deplete d
extremely quickly , it should be r eplaced with a
new one. Please contact your near est Sony
dealer for a battery replac ement.
If the unit does not operate properly • Follow the pr ocedure below t o reset the unit.
Put the units into the charging c ase, then touch
and hold the touch sensor contr ol panel on the
left unit. When the indicator (r ed) on the unit
turns off after flashing (after about 20 seconds),
release the touch sensor c ontrol panel. Then,
touch and hold the touch sensor contr ol panel
on the right unit. When the indicator (r ed) on
the unit turns off after flashing (after about 20
seconds), release the t ouch sensor control
panel. The pairing information and other
settings are r etained even when the unit is
reset.
• If the problem persists even after the unit is
reset, per form the proc edure below to initializ e
the unit.
Put the units into the charging c ase, then touch
and hold the touch sensor contr ol panel on the
left and right unit simultaneously . When the
indicators (r ed) start flashing (after about 10
seconds), release the t ouch sensor control
panel.
The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, the unit is
initialized, and the unit is r eset to the factory
settings. When the unit is initialized, all pairing
information is deleted.
• After the unit is initialized, it may not connect
to your iPhone or computer . If this happens,
delete the pairing information of the unit fr om
the iPhone or computer , and then pair them
again.
On the noise canceling function • The noise canceling function senses e xternal
ambient noise (such as the noise inside a
vehicle or the sound of air conditioning inside a
room) with built -in microphones, and produc es
an equal-but-opposite sound tha t cancels out
the ambient noise.
– The noise canceling effect may not be
pronounced in a very quiet envir onment, or
some noise may be heard.
– The noise canceling function works for noise
in the low frequency band primarily . Although
noise is reduce d, it is not canceled
completely .
– When you use the unit in a train or a car ,
noise may occur depending on stree t
conditions.
– Mobile phones may cause interferenc e and
noise. Should this occur , locate the unit
further away from the mobile phone.
– The noise canceling effect may v ary
depending on how you wear the unit. If this
happens, take off the unit and put it back on
again.
– Do not cover the microphones of the unit
with your hands or other objects. Doing so
may prevent the noise canc eling function or
the Ambient Sound Mode from working
properly , or may cause a beeping sound
(howling) to occur . If this happens, take your
hands or other object off of the microphones
of the unit.
Notes on wearing the unit • After use, remove the headphones slowly.
• Because the earbuds achieve a tight seal in the
ears, forcibly pr essing them in or quickly pulling
them out can result in ear drum damage.
When wearing the earbuds, the speaker
diaphragm may produc e a click sound. This is
not a malfunction.
Other notes • Do not subject the unit to e xces sive shock.
• The touch sensor may not oper ate properly if
you apply stickers or other adhesive items t o
the touch sensor contr ol panel.
• The Bluetooth function may no t work with a
mobile phone, depending on the signal
conditions and the surrounding envir onment.
• If you experience disc omfort while using the
unit, stop using it immediately .
• The earbuds may be damaged or deterior ate
with long-term use and storage .
• If the earbuds become dirty , remove them fr om
the unit and gently wash them by hand using a
neutral deter gent. After cleaning, thor oughly
wipe off any moisture.
Cleaning the unit • When the outside of the unit is dirty , clean it by
wiping with a soft dry cloth. If the unit is
particularly dirty, soak a cloth in a dilute
solution of neutral deter gent, and wring it well
before wiping. Do not use solvents such as
thinner , benzene, or alcohol, as they may
damage the surface.

appareils sans fil à faible puissanc e émettent
une énergie fréquenc e radioélectrique (RF)
très faible dans le spectr e des micro-ondes
lorsqu’ils sont utilisés. Alors qu’une dose
élevée de RF peut avoir des effets sur la
santé (en chauffant les tissus), l’exposition à
de faibles RF qui ne produisent pas de
chaleur n’ a pas de mauvais effets c onnus sur

• Ne faites pas éclabous ser de l’ eau dans les
trous de sortie audio.
• Ne faites pas tomber l’ appareil dans l’ eau et
ne l’utilisez pas sous l’ eau.
• Ne laissez pas l’ appareil mouillé dans un
environnement froid, car l’eau peut geler .
Pour éviter t out problème de
fonctionnement, assure z-vous d’ essuyer
l’ eau après l’utilisation.
• Utilisez un chiffon doux e t sec pour essuyer
l’ eau se trouvant sur l’ appareil. S’il reste de
l’ eau dans les trous de sortie audio, le son
peut devenir étouffé ou c omplètement
inaudible. Si cela se pr oduit, retir ez les
oreillettes, placez les trous de sortie audio
vers le bas et agitez plusieurs f ois pour faire
sortir l’ eau.
• Placez l’ ouverture du microphone vers le
bas et tapote z-le délicatement à envir on
cinq reprises au-dessus d’un chiffon se c,
etc. Si des gouttelett es d’ eau demeurent
dans l’ ouverture du microphone , elles
pourraient causer de la c orrosion.
• Si l’ appareil est cr aqué ou déformé,
abstenez-vous d’utiliser l’ appareil près de
l’ eau ou communique z avec votre dét aillant

À propos des communications BLUETOOTH® • La technologie sans fil Bluetoo th fonctionne
dans un rayon d’ environ 10m (30 pieds). La
distance maximale de communic ation peut
varier en fonction de la présenc e d’ obstacles
(personnes, objets métalliques, murs, et c.) ou
de l’ environnement électr omagnétique.
• Les communic ations Bluetoo th peuvent ne pas
être possibles ou du bruit ou des pertes
sonores peuvent se produir e dans les
conditions suivantes:
– Lorsqu’il y a une personne entre l’ appareil et
le périphérique Bluetooth. Cette situation
peut être amélior ée en plaçant le
périphérique Bluetooth de manièr e à ce qu’il
soit face à l’ antenne de l’appar eil.
